If you’re a Life, Success, Business Coach or an Energy Worker, your main focus is on helping people. Unfortunately, regardless of what business you’re in, you’re in the business of marketing. You spend all your time on the phone helping clients, and wind up with not much time left for your marketing efforts.

One of the best ways to leverage the time you do have is to offer information products to your subscribers. You must have downloadable products that people can purchase, for several reasons.

The first reason is that it gives people a chance to become familiar with your voice. They may be seriously considering hiring you for your services, but need a little more familiarity with your style before they ware willing to commit. Offering them an ebook or a report, or a sample session in transcripted form could be just the helping hand they need to decide to use your services.

Another great reason is financial. You are limited in the amount of time you have to offer for one-on-one coaching, and even setting up and conducting teleseminars and workshops takes quite a bit of time. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do the work once, and then use that product to produce recurring income? Your valuable content is no longer being lost in the ether, but literally recorded, and consumed, repeatedly.

Last, but certainly not the final benefit, there are some who simply will not be willing to commit to personal services. These people may still need help, and your services could be exactly what they’re looking for, but they want to be left anonymous. Offer them an ebook with a recording that they can use, at their own pace, in privacy. It’s the compassionate thing to do.

In closing, I’m sure you realize that there are other benefits to offering information products, like the ability to compile previous works into a book (!) and the library of resources you’ll be able to offer your subscribers, but ultimately, the responsibility falls on you.

Why should you have transcriptions for your videos and products?

When you’re doing video marketing, you can upload the transcript to YouTube, and it helps the search engines crawl your content. Viewers can start the video at the keyword they selected, and they like that. Increased traffic from video marketing, and if your content is keyword enriched, you’ve got the jump on 95% of people using video marketing. (don’t forget to use tags, though, that’s a big part of it, as well)

Also, if you have an audio or video that you are selling, you can ask more if you offer a transcript.
Many of my coaching clients offer one price for just the audio or video, and another, higher price if they want the transcript as well. (I wouldn’t offer JUST the transcript, unless you’re marketing the product as an ebook, because people will choose that option just based on the price, and not get the real value-your content!)

In addition, once you have a library of transcripts available, then it becomes a non-issue to WRITE A BOOK. (I’m a big promoter of people writing books, can you tell?) You simply use the transcripts, edit, and print.
